As part of efforts to eradicate fraud in the administration of the Police Pension Scheme, over 3,000 retired policemen have been screened in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, to ascertain their eligibility to benefit from the newly introduced Defined Benefit Scheme, by the Federal Government, for paramilitary services in the country.
The verification and screening exercises which also involved the capture of the biometric data of the retired officers were carried out by officials of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD.
Director General of PTAD, Mrs. Nellie Mayshak who spoke to newsmen yesterday at the venue of the exercise, said that retired from Nasarawa, Plateau and Benue States were involved in the exercise ahead of the commencement of the new scheme.
